About Our Summer Rentals & Guided Winter Adventures
Northern Minnesota Winter Adventures — No Equipment Required Explore groomed snowmobile trails, frozen lakes, and the Northwoods winter landscape with fully equipped snowmobile rentals — perfect for families, couples, and first-time riders.
Lossing's Power Sports is the premier Northern Minnesota Rental location. Our fleet is consists of 2025 Can-Am Side by Sides and 2024-2026 Ski-Doo snowmobiles. We have been renting snowmobiles since 2009, and joined BRP Experiences in 2022.
Lossing’s Power Sports is located near some of northern Minnesota’s most popular trail systems, our rentals offer direct access to hundreds of miles of winter and summer riding. We encourage you to ride right from the dealership, as we have multiple trails heading different directions, including through the Bear Island State Forest. We are conveniently located just outside of Ely, MN.
Trail Maps & Snow Conditions
In addition to paper maps (for both ATVs and Snowmobiles), we also recommend an online map, such as BRP Go. Think Google Maps, but for the trails. Download in the Apple or Android App Store.
Booking for Today or tomorrow?
Call us. We can usually accomodate last minute rentals, but our reservations systems cuts off the night before. We usually can't accomodate last minute Ice Fishing Tours, but can accomodate last minute rentals. If we are closed or after business hours, please send a note to us via the Contact form at the top right of the screen. Often this is monitored around the clock.
Ice Fishing & Sled Dog Adventures
Guests of ours find a variety of outdoor activities to do while traveling to our region. Have you considered Ice Fishing, or Dog Sledding while you are up north?
You can now add on an Ice Fishing Stop on our Guided Snowmobile Adventures. We will have a heated, 16 foot Ice House on Birch Lake- one of the best Walleye Fishing Lakes in Minnesota. Book early- we are only doing one Ice Fishing Tour per day. And don't forget, you will need a MN Fishing License if you add this option to your rental.
Guided Snow Adventures
Unsure about your ability to navigate snowmobile trails on your own? A bit nervous about the cold weather? Consider our guided snowmobile tour rather than a rental. Our guides have navigated the snowmobile trails for years in Minnesota, and will help you build the perfect day on a snowmobile. Our guides often know which trails are in the best condition for riding, and which restraunts have the tastiest food. Don't worry- you can also just ask us too. But if you are not the adventurer that wants to pack a trail map or simply wants an amatuer instagram photographer, consider a guide. Guides are available for half days & full days.

MXZ Sport (2026)
The 2026 MXZ Sport 137 features the new REV Gen5 chassis, a Rotax 600 EFI engine, 4.5" digital display, electric start, RAS X front suspension, and SC-5M rear suspension. Weighing 435 lbs with 85 hp, it’s built for dynamic trail performance and includes RER reverse and Pilot 5.7 skis.
Grand Touring
The 2024 Grand Touring is a comfortable, precise-handling 2-up trail sled powered by a 62 hp Rotax 600 ACE on the GEN4 platform. It includes electric start, reverse, heated passenger grips and driver handlebars, a 23" windshield, mirrors, and a driver power outlet—delivering a smooth, fuel-efficient ride.

Rental Policies
Please see the documents & videos below to prepare for your rental. You must present a valid driver’s license to operate. DOT certified helmets are mandatory for everyone. A non-refundable deposit is required at the time of the reservation. Please see below for cancellation fees- they differ based on how far in advance you cancel. If weather or snow conditions are deemed unsafe by our staff on your date, deposits will be refunded. 7.375% MN Sales Tax applies.
For ATVs, anyone (both MN Residents and Non-Residents) born after July 1, 1987, can complete the ATV safety online course at ATVcourse.com to meet certification requirements. You are not required to attend the ATV safety Hands-On class as an adult. For Snowmobiles, If you are a MN resident born after December 31st, 1976 you will need to successfully complete the Minnesota Snowmobile Safety Course. The online Course.

UTV Rental Fleet: The 2025 Can-Am Maverick Sport Side by Sides comfortably seat 2 or 4 adults, and are purpose built off-road trail machines. For 2026, we also offer a 6 Seat, Fully Enclosed Side by Side, the Defender Lone Star-available as a full day rental only. The Lone Star has Heat, AirCon, Radio, Speakers, & Power Windows. Note our backup fleet, should there be any breakdowns or maintenance events, is the Can-Am Maverick Sport DPS 700. This can also be requested if you want a smaller machine with lower horsepower. New in 2026- a six passenger Open Cab Defender. Perfect for taking the whole family on a picnic!
