About Our Rentals & Guided Snow Adventures
Lossing's Power Sports is the premier Iron Range/Northern Minnesota Rental location. Our fleet is consists of 2023/2024 Can-Am Side by Sides and 2024 Ski-Doo snowmobiles. We have been renting snowmobiles since 2009, and joined the Uncharted Society network of world-class operations in 2022.
Lossing’s Power Sports sits on some of the best snowmobile and ATV trails in the country, and we encourage you to ride right from the dealership on the Stoney Spur trail towards Isabella- where you will meet up with the Tomahawk Trail. From there, you can head towards the North Shore or back up to Ely. Heading west out of Babbitt to the Taconite Spur Trail, a turn south will bring you to Giant’s Ridge Ski Resort. North on the Taconite Spur trail creates a couple of intra-day options, including the Fishing Lakes Trails, or Vermilion State Parks Trails, which can connect you back to Ely or Lake Vermilion and Tower. We are conveniently located just outside of Ely, MN.

In addition to paper maps (for both ATVs and Snowmobiles), we also recommend an online map, such as BRP Go. Think Google Maps, but for the trails. Download in the Apple or Android App Store.

Rental Policies
Please see the documents below to prepare for your rental. You must present a valid driver’s license to rent and be at least 18 years old. DOT certified helmets are mandatory. A non-refundable deposit is required at the time of the reservation. Please see below for cancellation fees- they differ based on how far in advance you cancel. If wether or snow conditions are deemed unsafe by our staff on your date, deposits will be refunded. 7.375% MN Sales Tax applies.
For ATVs, anyone born after July 1, 1987, can complete the ATV safety online course at ATVcourse.com to meet certification requirements. You are not required to attend the ATV safety Hands-On class as an adult. For Snowmobiles, If you are a Minnesota resident born after December 31st, 1976 you will need to successfully complete the Minnesota Snowmobile Safety Course. The online Course.

Our 2024 pricing is live on our booking platform. We offer half day and full day rentals, with Mon-Thurs pricing at a discount compared to weekends. Need a custom rental period? Give us a call.
Guided Adventures
Unsure about your ability to navigate snowmobile trails on your own for your first experience? A bit nervous about the cold weather and being in the woods alone? Consider our guided snowmobile tour rather than a rental. Our guides have navigated the snowmobile trails for years in Minnesota, and will help you build the perfect day on a snowmobile. Our guides often know which trails are in the best condition for riding, and which restraunts have the tastiest food. Don't worry- you can also just ask us too. But if you aren't the adventurer that wants to bring a trail map and needs an amatuer photographer, consider booking with a guide. Guides are available for half day and full day rentals.
Our Uncharted Society Rental Fleet consists of 2023 Can-Am Side by Sides and 2024 Ski-Doo snowmobiles. Ski-Doo is the #1 selling snowmobile, globally, and Can-Am is the fastest growing offroad brand. The Maverick Sport Side by Sides comfortably seat 2 or 4 adults, and are purpose built trail machines. for 2024, we also offered a 6 Seat, Air Conditioned Fully Enclosed Side by Side, with Lone Star Edition. This Lone Star has full heat, AC, and Radio, Speakers, & Power Windows. Please note our backup fleet, should there be any breakdowns or maintenance events, is the Can-Am Maverick Sport DPS 700. This can also be specifically mixed into the rental, if you want a little smaller machine with less horsepower.
The 2024 MXZ Sport with a 137 inch track features the following specifications: Rotax 600 EFI engine, 4.5in Digital Display, Electric Starter, Ergo Step Side panels, RAS X front Suspension and SC-5M rear suspension. At 435lbs, this 85HP unit was built to offer dynamic trail performance and features for our part of the country. The MXZ also features the RER Reverse, Pilot 5.7 Skis, and is built on the Gen4 REV platform.
The 2024 Grand Touring is a trail sled built for precision handling and savvy style, comfortable for 2 adults. The Rotax 600 ACE engine produces 62 horsepower. Also built on the GEN4 REV platform, the machine has electric start, reverse, heated passenger handholds and heated driver handlbars, a 23inch high windshield with side deflectors, heated driver's visor power outlet, and pivoting mirrors. Easy on gas, you will enjoy this smooth, comfortable ride with a 4.5 inch digital display.
